Kanazawa – the other side of Japan
2014年12月6日
Many tourists from overseas who want a traditional experience head to Kyoto and of course that is a wonderful place to visit but for a real look at traditional Japan, I recommend visiting Kanazawa, one of the places known to Japanese as “Little Kyoto” on the Sea of Japan side of the country. It has Kenrokuen, one of Japan’s three best gardens, right next to the newly rebuilt Kanazawa Castle. At Higashi-chayagai, you can see old geisha houses and in Naga-machi you can visit the former residences of samurai families, in which people are still living!
