The end of May and beginning of June is a great time to travel in Japan. Once Golden Week is over there are less Japanese people traveling so the trains and airplanes are less crowded. Also, it is the best time of the year to visit places like Okinawa or Kyoto before it gets too hot in the summer months. Also the end of June sees rainy season in Japan so this time of year should also be avoided. Not enough time to book your tickets? Don’t worry, for similar reasons, October is also a great time for travel in Japan!
