Baby panda Shan Shan
2017年9月26日
This week, Ueno Zoo in Tokyo marked one hundred days since the birth of a baby giant panda. Named Shan Shan in Japanese (Xiang Xiang, meaning ‘fragrant’ in Chinese), the baby panda’s birth is a rare event. Pandas are well known for having difficulty breeding, especially in captivity, so this is an especially happy event! Shan Shan has made it past one hundred days and is healthy. Ueno Zoo is home to many animals from all over the world. It is Japan’s oldest zoo and has been home to pandas since 1972.
